Kit Simmons (they/them) is an actor, creator, writer, part-time technician, and educator. Their work explores ambition, shame, and personal problems experienced publicly. Their identity as a queer & neurodivergent person influences the politic of their work, especially in relation to conducting work process. Their training has ranged from classical voice work to ballet to clown, and they aim to learn from non-theatre activities as well - a cross-disciplinary, holistic approach is at the heart of all of their projects and artistic identity.
Since graduating, they have been involved in a number of productions as a stage manager, choir member, director, editor, and actor around Toronto. Through the pandemic, they've been focusing on digital performance and acquiring online-centered skills such as editing, recording, interactive video, online stage managing, social media management, live event streaming, and compassionate online rehearsal and creation practices. They live in Hamilton with their partner and the houseplants, and are waiting to see what happens next.
